Scope
This standard specifies the lead migration amount of food contact materials and products after immersion in food simulants and the determination of lead in paper products and cork stoppers by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, inductively coupled plasma emission spectrometry and flame atomic absorption spectrometry. This standard is applicable to the determination of lead migration amount in food contact materials and products and lead in paper products and cork stoppers.

Practical Application Example

When testing ceramic tableware in the laboratory, after completing the migration test using glycerol simulant as specified in GB 5009.156, the acidity was adjusted according to Clause 12.1 of this standard, and the measured lead migration amount was 1.25mg/kg, which meets the requirements of QS production license.
