Diecasting dies—Components—Part 2: Round inserts (English Version)
GB/T 4678 "Die Casting Parts" is divided into 19 parts, of which Part 2 specifies the structure, dimensions and requirements of circular inserts in detail. This update replaces the 2003 version. The main revisions include the application of the three-part nomenclature, the unification of the surface roughness value to $R a0.8\mu\mathrm{m}$, and the expansion of the size range and material selection.
Standard dimensions | GB/T 4678.2—2017 | GB/T 4678.2—2003 | DIN 53922 | ISO 23903 |
---|---|---|---|---|
Structural type | Uniform specifications, clear illustration requirements | Relatively simple | Rich in details | Modular design |
Size range | Covering D=30~600mm, H=20~800mm | D=30~400mm, H=15~700mm | DIN standard: D=20~500mm | ISO standard: D=25~600mm |
Surface roughness | $R a0.8\mu\mathrm{m}$ | $Ra1.6\mu\mathrm{m}$ | $Ra1.2\mu\mathrm{m}$ | $Ra0.8\mu\mathrm{m}$ |
The limit deviation of the circular insert diameter $D$ follows the h7 specification in GB/T1801-2009, and the verticality and parallelism tolerance level is level 5. Table 1 lists the available thickness ranges for different diameters in detail, and it is recommended to use the size marked with '×' to ensure the best performance.
Material grade | Recommended hardness (HRC) | Applicable die casting alloy |
---|---|---|
4Cr5MoSiV1, 4Cr5MoSiV | 44~48 HRC | Zinc alloy, aluminum alloy, magnesium alloy |
- | 38~42 HRC | Copper alloy |
When selecting round inserts:
In actual applications, it is recommended that manufacturers refer to Table 2 for material matching and combine the technical conditions of GB/T4679 to ensure processing quality. Pay special attention to the verticality and parallelism control in the thickness direction, which is crucial to the molding accuracy of die castings.
