Scope: This standard gives a description of the basic anthropometric items used for comparison among different populations. The basic items stipulated in this standard are intended to provide services for professionals, help them determine the population, and apply the relevant knowledge to the design of products and the design of people's daily work and living places. This standard is not intended as a guideline on how to obtain anthropometric data, but to provide ergonomics experts and designers with information on the anatomical basis, anthropometry basis and measurement principles needed to solve design tasks. This standard should be used together with relevant national or international standards or regulations to ensure the consistency of population determination. For various applications, some specific measurement items should be added to the list of basic items in this standard.
