Environmental Conditions Temperature Range Light Requirements Soil Type
Temperate to Tropical 15°C ~ 30°C Partial Shade to Shade Loose, breathable, acidic soil

Reproduction Techniques

1. Division Propagation: In spring and autumn, select healthy centipede grass plants for division. Make sure each division has at least two stems.

2. Plant tissue culture:Use terminal buds or young leaves as explants and inoculate them into culture medium under sterile conditions. The culture medium includes: MS basal medium + 1 mg/L NAA + 0.5 mg/L GA3.

Cultivation and management

  • Water management:Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged, especially increase the amount of watering during the growing season.
  • Fertilization suggestions:Apply diluted organic fertilizer or compound fertilizer once a month (N:P:K ratio is 3:1:2).

Application value

Ornamental use:Centipede grass is widely used in indoor greening, garden decoration and bonsai design due to its unique shape and color.

Medicinal prospects: Studies have found that it has certain anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities, and can be used in the development of new drugs or raw materials for health products in the future.
