Scope
This document specifies the classification and marking, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, storage, accompanying documents and order form contents of copper alloy seamless pipes for seawater desalination equipment (hereinafter referred to as "pipes"). This document is applicable to copper alloy seamless pipes for seawater desalination equipment, and copper alloy seamless pipes for other desalination equipment can be used as a reference.
Introduction

1. Background and significance of standard revision

GB/T 23609-2023 "Copper alloy seamless pipes for seawater desalination equipment" is a comprehensive revision of the original standard GB/T 23609-2009, which mainly optimizes and improves the technical development and application needs in the field of seawater desalination.

2. Comparison of standard frameworks

Standard dimensions Requirements of the 2009 edition New requirements of the 2023 edition
Chemical composition Conforms to the corresponding provisions of GB/T5231 New grade BFe10-1.5-1 and its state
Allowable deviation of outer diameter ±0.08mm The deviation of some specifications is relaxed to ±0.23mm
Mechanical properties Tensile strength not less than 340MPa New tensile strength up to 480MPa

3. Technical requirements interpretation

Chemical composition control

GB/T23609-2023 clearly requires that the chemical composition of pipes must comply with the provisions of GB/T5121, and adds the BFe10-1.5-1 grade and its state. This change is mainly aimed at the higher requirements of seawater desalination equipment for material corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.

Wall thickness tolerance

The wall thickness tolerance of the pipe is ±10% of the nominal wall thickness, accurate to 0.01mm. When the minimum wall thickness is required, the wall thickness of any part should not be less than the specified value.

4. Analysis of New Technical Requirements

  • Electrochemical Corrosion Performance: A new requirement that the potential difference between the inner and outer surfaces ΔE should not be greater than 0.07V is added to ensure the corrosion resistance of the material in the seawater environment.
  • Air Pressure Test Method: Two new test methods are added to ensure that there are no bubbles or changes in the internal pressure of the pipe.
  • Residual Carbon Control: The residual carbon content on the inner surface is strictly controlled within 0.2mg/m² to avoid water pollution.

5. Implementation Suggestions

To ensure the effective implementation of the standard, it is recommended that:

  1. Both the supply and demand sides should strictly follow the standard requirements for production and inspection.
  2. Manufacturing enterprises need to strengthen the quality control of raw materials and semi-finished products.
  3. Users should clearly specify the test items when purchasing and keep relevant test reports.
