Scope: This document specifies the overall requirements, technical requirements, test methods, random documents, product nameplates, logos, packaging, transportation and storage of bumper car amusement facilities. This document is applicable to the design, manufacture, installation, modification, maintenance, testing, inspection and use management of bumper car amusement facilities.

Overview of the revision of the National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 18169-2023

This standard was issued in 2023, replacing the original GB/T18169-2008 version, and mainly puts forward more stringent requirements for the safety, mechanical performance and electrical systems of bumper car amusement facilities.

Revision background and technical evolution analysis

With the rapid development and technological upgrading of the amusement facility industry, the new version of the standard focuses on strengthening the following aspects:

Added a terminology and definition chapter to clarify the classification of various types of bumper cars.
Added emergency rescue requirements and special technical specifications for different types of bumper cars.
Optimized the test method to ensure the stability and safety of the product under different working conditions.

Mechanical and Structure (5.1)

The new standard puts forward stricter requirements on the mechanical structure of bumper cars:

Electrical control system optimization

Specialized technical requirements for skynet-fed, floor-fed and energy storage unit bumper cars have been added to ensure safety under different power supply modes:

Skynet-fed bumper cars: Emphasize good contact of conductive devices and limit voltage to less than 90V.
Floor-fed bumper cars: Require the use of safe voltage (≤50V) and set up insulation protection measures.

Test methods and implementation recommendations

To ensure the effective implementation of the standard, it is recommended that:

Pre-delivery testing should be carried out strictly in accordance with the inspection methods in Table 1.
Regularly check the performance of key components (such as steering wheel buffer devices and electrical interlock devices).
Establish a complete emergency rescue plan and conduct drills at least once a year.
