Scope
This document describes the reliability test method for watch movements. This document is applicable to the reliability test of mechanical watch movements, pointer-type quartz watch movements and liquid crystal quartz watch movements. It can also be used as a reference for other types of watch movements or watches with similar movements.
Introduction

In-depth interpretation of watch movement reliability test methods

Test items Test type Temperature and humidity conditions Duration
Shock test Typical shock, moderate shock, severe shock (23±2)℃ 24 hours
Temperature test Low temperature environment test (5±1)℃ 14 hours
Humidity test High humidity environment test (55±1)℃, 70±5% humidity 48 hours

Background of standard formulation and analysis of technological evolution

With the continuous development of the watch industry, the requirements for product reliability are increasing. The introduction of GB/T 42947-2023 fills the gap in the reliability test methods of watch movements in China and provides a unified technical specification for the industry.

Implementation suggestions

Suggestion 1: Before conducting reliability tests, ensure that the calibration of all test equipment meets the standard requirements, especially the impact test bench and constant temperature and humidity chamber.

Suggestion 2: Test different types of movements (mechanical, quartz) separately to ensure the accuracy of the test results.

Suggestion 3: During the test, pay close attention to the operating status of the equipment and handle possible interruptions in a timely manner to ensure the continuity of the test.
