Physical and chemical properties test of furniture surface paint film Part 4: Adhesion cross-cut determination method (English Version)
GB/T 4893.4—2023 is the latest standard for the cross-cutting determination of paint film adhesion on furniture surfaces, replacing the old version GB/T 4893.4—2013. This standard specifies in detail the method for determining the adhesion of paint films on furniture surfaces and is applicable to painted furniture surfaces.

Cutting Tools: It is recommended to use multi-blade cutting tools first, because they can cut multiple cuts at the same time and improve efficiency. Check the blade status regularly to ensure that there are no defects such as curling and burrs.
Pretreatment and test environment: Strictly control the temperature 23°C ± 2°C and relative humidity 50% ± 5% to ensure that the paint film is in the best test state.
Visual inspection: It is recommended to use a handheld magnifier with a magnification of 4~6 times to assist observation and ensure accurate evaluation results. For multi-layer paint film specimens, special attention should be paid to the shedding between interfaces.
