Scope
This document specifies the definition, identification items, identification characteristics, identification methods, optimization treatment methods and identification, as well as naming rules and representation methods of Nanhong. This document is applicable to the identification of Nanhong products and raw materials.
Introduction

1. Background and significance of the standard

GB/T 42437-2023 "Nanhong Identification" is a national standard of the People's Republic of China, issued by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the National Administration of Standardization. This standard mainly focuses on the identification items, methods and optimized processing of Nanhong products, aiming to unify industry technical requirements and regulate market order.

3. Interpretation of core technology for identification of Nanhong

3.1 Mineral composition and chemical properties

Nanhong is mainly colored by hematite mineral inclusions, with the main component being SiO₂, and may contain trace amounts of Fe, Al and other elements. Its cryptocrystalline aggregate structure and red hue are key identification features.

3.2 Spectral analysis method

The typical spectral characteristics of Nanhong include:

  • Ultraviolet-visible spectrum: wide absorption band (350nm~550nm)[see Figure A.1]
  • Infrared spectrum: characteristic absorption peak of quartz (mid-infrared region)[see Figure A.2]
  • Raman spectrum: characteristic peaks of hematite and quartz[see Figure A.3, A.4]

4. Implementation suggestions

To ensure the effective implementation of the standard, it is recommended that:

  1. Establish a standardized testing laboratory equipped with professional equipment such as Raman spectrometer.
  2. Strengthen the training of practitioners, focusing on mastering the characteristic spectral analysis method of Nanhong.
  3. Encourage market supervision agencies to strictly implement standard naming rules (see 6.2).
