Test method for surface scratch resistance of flat panel display(FPD)polarizing film (English Version)
GB/T 36952—2018 "Test Method for Surface Scratch Resistance of Polarizing Film for Flat Panel Display (FPD)" is an important national standard that aims to standardize the test method for the surface scratch resistance of polarizing film for flat panel display during use. This standard is proposed and managed by the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Semiconductor Equipment and Materials, and is applicable to all enterprises involved in the manufacture and testing of polarizing film for flat panel display.
With the rapid development of flat panel display technology, polarizing film, as a key component, plays an important role in devices such as smartphones, tablets, and televisions. However, polarizing film is easily affected by external friction and scratches during use, resulting in a decrease in display quality. Therefore, it is particularly important to formulate a unified scratch resistance test standard.
The formulation of this standard fills the technical gap in related fields in China, provides a scientific basis for the quality assessment of polarizing film, and also promotes the healthy development of the flat panel display industry.
Standard dimensions | GB/T 36952—2018 | Reference standard GB/T 31379—2015 | Industry requirements |
---|---|---|---|
Test method | Scratch method | Similar but not specific | High consistency |
Test equipment | Abrasion tester + steel wool | General equipment requirements | Special equipment recommendation |
Environmental conditions | Temperature: 25°C ±5°C, Humidity: 50%~80% | No clear requirements | More stringent control |
The test sample needs to be cut from the polarizing film to be tested. The recommended size is 30mm~70mm wide and 110mm~160mm long. The sample should be kept flat and ensure that there are no obvious defects.
Abrasion test machine is the core equipment of the test and needs to have the function of fixing the sample to ensure that the sample does not move during the friction process. Steel wool uses 0000# model, and its average wire diameter is about 0.012mm.
The number of frictions is set to 10 times, and the speed is controlled at 80mm/s~120mm/s. The load per unit area is 0.80N/cm²~2.45N/cm². After the test, the surface scratches of the sample need to be visually inspected in a dark room under 10klx fluorescent reflection conditions.
