Scope

This standard specifies the sanitary inspection method for the determination of chloride (HCl and ClO2) in the atmosphere of residential areas by methyl orange spectrophotometry. This standard is applicable to the determination of chloride in the atmosphere of residential areas, but not to the situation where there is interference from strong oxidizing or reducing gases, such as sulfur dioxide, which may produce positive interference.
