Scope
This document stipulates the basic requirements, wastewater categories and technical requirements for the treatment and reuse of coal chemical wastewater. This document is applicable to the technical guidance of the treatment and reuse of wastewater generated by the production of fuels and chemical products through coal gasification or coal liquefaction using coal as raw material.
Introduction

1. Overview of the Standard

Technical Guidelines for Treatment and Reuse of Coal Chemical Wastewater aims to standardize the treatment and reuse of wastewater in the coal chemical industry to ensure compliance with environmental protection requirements and resource conservation goals.

2. Wastewater Classification and Sources

Wastewater Category Main Source Pollutant Characteristics
Process Wastewater Coal Gasification, Coal Liquefaction Equipment, etc. Organic Matter, Ammonia Nitrogen, Phenolic Substances
Public Engineering Wastewater Water Treatment Station, Circulating Water Station, etc. Suspended Matter, Salt
Auxiliary Engineering Wastewater Boiler Equipment, Flare System, etc. Phosphate, Organic Matter

3. Classification and pretreatment

Principles for wastewater classification and collection:

  • Production wastewater in the process unit area shall be reused or discharged after pretreatment.
  • Public engineering wastewater shall be collected separately to avoid mixing with other types of wastewater.
  • Domestic sewage shall be treated separately and can be reused for miscellaneous water after meeting the GB/T18920 standard.

4. Grading and quality treatment technology

Pretreatment unit:

  • Gasification wastewater: Use oil removal, phenol removal, ammonia evaporation and other processes to ensure the water inlet conditions for biochemical treatment.
  • Coal direct liquefaction wastewater: Reduce the salt concentration through stripping and evaporation desalination.

Biological treatment unit:

  • A combination of anaerobic, anoxic and aerobic processes is used to effectively remove organic matter and ammonia nitrogen.
  • For special chemical pollutants, it must comply with the requirements of GB50684.

5. Separation and reuse and water quality standards

Principles of separation and reuse:

  • Determine the purpose of reuse according to water quality indicators, and give priority to meeting high-standard water needs.
  • When reused for production water, it is advisable to comply with SH/T3099 standards.
  • When reused in the circulating water system, salt balance factors must be considered.

6. Implementation suggestions

Enterprises should take the following measures:

  • Establish a complete wastewater treatment and reuse system to ensure the efficient operation of each unit.
  • Regularly monitor water quality, optimize treatment processes, and reduce operating costs.
  • Strengthen employee training to improve environmental awareness and technical level.
