1. Background and purpose of the standard
GB/T 24478-2023 Elevator traction machine is a national standard of the People's Republic of China, which is used to regulate the technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules of elevator traction machines. This standard replaces the old version GB/T 24478-2009, and mainly revises the scope of application, term definitions, motor performance, brake system and other related requirements.
2. Comparison of standard frameworks
Standard content | Requirements of the 2009 edition | Requirements of the 2023 edition |
Scope of application | Elevator traction machine, rated speed ≤6.0 m/s | Elevator traction machine, rated speed ≤10.0 m/s |
Definition of terms | Short-circuit braking torque of permanent magnet synchronous motor is not specified | The definition of “short-circuit braking torque of permanent magnet synchronous motor” is added |
Motor performance | Requirements for overheating protection and protection level are not specified | Added overheat protection requirements (4.3.1.9) and IP2X protection level requirements (4.3.1.10) |
3. Detailed explanation of technical requirements
3.1 Motor performance requirements
The motor is the core component of the traction machine, and its performance directly affects the safety and efficiency of the elevator operation. The following are the main requirements for motors in the new standard:
- Overtorque and stall torque: The overtorque of the synchronous motor should not be less than 1.5 times the rated value; the ratio of the stall torque to the rated torque of the asynchronous motor should not be less than 2.2.
- Insulation and withstand voltage test: The hot insulation resistance of the stator winding should not be less than 0.5 MΩ, and the cold insulation resistance should not be less than 5 MΩ. The withstand voltage test voltage is 1000 V at power frequency + 2 times the rated voltage.
- Protection level: The protection level of the motor shall not be lower than IP2X (GB/T4208-2017).
3.2 Braking system requirements
The braking system is the key to the safe operation of the elevator. The new standard puts forward higher requirements for the performance and safety of the brake:
- Braking torque: The rated braking torque shall be at least 2.5 times the rated torque of the traction machine. For brakes that also serve as deceleration components of the car upward overspeed protection device and braking components of the car accidental movement protection device, they shall also comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T7588.1-2020.
- Electromagnet performance: The minimum pull-in voltage of the brake electromagnet shall not be lower than 80% of the rated voltage, and the maximum release voltage shall not be higher than 40% of the rated voltage.
- Brake response time: The brake response time of the brake shall not be greater than 0.5 seconds.
3.3 Other performance requirements
In addition to the motor and brake system, the standard also puts forward detailed requirements for other key indicators such as traction sheave, noise, vibration and temperature rise:
- Ratio of traction sheave pitch diameter to wire rope nominal diameter: should not be less than 40.
- No-load noise: The noise limit for gearless traction machine is 62-75 dB(A), and the noise limit for geared traction machine is 70-80 dB(A).
- Vibration speed: The maximum vibration speed of gearless traction machine should not exceed 0.5 mm/s, and the maximum vibration speed of geared traction machine should not exceed 4.5 mm/s.
4. Implementation Suggestions
To ensure the smooth implementation of GB/T 24478-2023, enterprises should focus on the following aspects:
- Product design optimization: Re-evaluate the performance parameters of the motor and brake system under the new standard framework to ensure compliance with higher technical requirements.
- Test method improvement: Update laboratory equipment and technology to adapt to the newly added requirements for temperature rise testing, vibration testing and noise testing.
- Production process control: Strengthen the quality management of key components, especially in terms of protection level, insulation performance and electromagnet characteristics.
- User training and technical support: Provide users with detailed operating manuals and technical support to ensure the correct use and maintenance of traction machine equipment.
Through the above measures, enterprises can effectively improve the manufacturing level of elevator traction machines, meet the requirements of the new standard, and ensure the safe and efficient operation of elevators.
