Introduction

In-depth interpretation of the new industrial ferric chloride standard GB/T 1621-2023

Industrial ferric chloride is an important chemical product, widely used in etchants, catalysts and other fields. This article will analyze the new standard from multiple dimensions such as classification, index requirements, and test methods, and provide implementation suggestions.

Comparison of standard frameworks and key points of updates

Old version GB/T 1621—2008 New version GB/T 1621—2023 Update notes
Scope not divided in detail Clearly divided into Class I and Class II uses New classification requirements
No index requirements for ferric chloride hexahydrate Added appearance and index requirements for ferric chloride hexahydrate Strengthen product standardization
Type inspection not specified New type inspection requirements Enhance quality monitoring

Classification and use analysis

Industrial ferric chloride is divided into:

  • Class I: used in high-end fields such as etchants and catalysts
  • Class II: Mainly used in water treatment and other fields

Indicator requirements and table comparison

Items Class I Class II Ferric chloride solution
Ferric chloride (FeCl₃) content/% 99.098.096.0 58.056.0 38.0-
Ferrous chloride (FeCl₂) content/% 0.51.02.0 - 0.40.51.0

Implementation Suggestions

Manufacturers should:

  • Establish a sound quality management system
  • Perform regular type inspections
  • Optimize production processes to meet the requirements of the new standard
  • Strengthen technical exchanges with industry experts

Summary

The release of GB/T 1621—2023 marks a new height in the standardization of industrial ferric chloride. Enterprises need to pay close attention to changes in standards and ensure that product quality meets the requirements of the new regulations to enhance market competitiveness.
