Technical specifications for hot-pressurized plugging of steel pipelines (English Version)
GB/T 28055-2023 "Technical Specification for Steel Pipeline Pressure Plugging" is the latest revised technical standard for steel pipeline pressure plugging in my country, which is applicable to the opening and plugging of oil and gas pipelines and other medium pipelines in a closed state.
Compared with the 2011 version, the new version of the standard adds advanced technical requirements such as hydraulic active plugging, two-stage sealing plugging and intelligent plugging, and comprehensively updates the classification, installation requirements and safety specifications of plugging heads.
Plugging pressure level | Scope of application | Recommended application scenarios |
---|---|---|
Low-pressure plugging (≤0.5 MPa) | Applicable to conventional pressure pipelines and scenarios with good medium fluidity. | Urban gas pipeline maintenance and small oil product pipeline transformation. |
Medium-pressure plugging (0.5-2.5 MPa) | Applicable to medium-pressure environments and occasions with high sealing requirements. | Long-distance oil and gas pipeline maintenance and industrial pipeline system transformation. |
High-pressure plugging (2.5-5.0 MPa) | Applicable to high-pressure and corrosive media environments, and the operating conditions must be strictly controlled. | Submarine pipeline maintenance, high-temperature and high-pressure steam pipeline modification. |
Ultra-high-pressure plugging (>5.0 MPa) | Applicable to extreme pressure environments, requiring professional equipment and highly skilled operators. | Deep-sea oil and gas pipelines, and nuclear power plant internal pipeline maintenance. |

3. Post-management:
The standard particularly emphasizes the equipment cold protection measures in extremely cold weather and the safety requirements for operations in thunderstorms. At the same time, the discharge of media must be strictly controlled during the plugging operation to prevent environmental pollution, and intelligent monitoring methods must be used to ensure the safety of the operation.
