Environmental test chamber method for odor release testing of building materials products (English Version)
This standard establishes a complete building material odor test system, which simulates the actual use environment through the environmental test chamber to systematically evaluate the odor release characteristics of six major building materials such as artificial boards and coatings. The test items include six key indicators such as odor intensity, concentration, and dissipation time.
Test Items | Reference Benchmark Method | Phase Method | Applicable Scenarios |
---|---|---|---|
Odor Intensity | Acetone Standard Gas Comparison | Butanol Grade Determination | High Precision/Conventional Testing |
Odor Concentration | Dynamic Dilution Olfactometer | Objective Quantitative Evaluation | |
Evaluator Requirements | ≥8 persons | ≥8 persons | Professional Training Required |
Environmental test chamber must meet the requirements of JJF (Building Materials) 182-2021, and the background odor intensity must be ≤0.5 level. PVF/PET material is recommended for sample containers, and the adsorption rate must be <20%. The gas flow rate of the dynamic dilution olfactometer should be stable at (20±1)L/min.
Case: The PD value of a certain brand of wooden flooring was exceeded in the test. After investigation, it was found that the load rate (1.0m²/m³) was not controlled according to the requirements of Appendix C during sample preparation. After re-sampling, the data met the standard.
This standard introduces the dynamic dilution olfactometer for the first time to quantify odor concentration. Compared with the old sensory evaluation method, the data repeatability is improved by 40%. With reference to the ISO 16000-28 international standard, an acetone reference gas calibration system is added.
