This document is applicable to the design, construction and management of marine ranching, and is used for communication and cooperation in related fields.

1. Background and significance of the standard

GB/T 42779-2023 "Basic Terminology of Marine Ranching" is my country's first comprehensive standard for the field of marine ranching, aiming to unify industry terminology and standardize the construction, management and evaluation process. The standard was proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and is under the jurisdiction of the National Technical Committee for Aquatic Products Standardization. It brings together the wisdom of many scientific research institutions and universities, and fully reflects the advantages of the combination of industry, academia and research.

2. Overview of the core content of the standard

This standard mainly defines the basic concepts, classifications and related terms of marine ranching. Specifically including:

Definition and classification of marine ranching (maintenance type, proliferation type, leisure type).
Functional area division: habitat creation area, resource cultivation area, proliferation and release area, leisure and entertainment area, etc.
