Scope
This standard specifies the classification and nomenclature, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking and accompanying documents, packaging, transportation and storage of ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVAC) resin. This standard applies to ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers obtained by polymerization under high pressure with ethylene and vinyl acetate as monomers. The vinyl acetate content (mass fraction) in the copolymer is 3%~40%.

1. Background and significance of the standard

GB/T 37197-2018 "Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVAC) resin" was drafted according to GB/T1.1-2009 rules, proposed by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, and managed by the National Plastics Standardization Technical Committee. This standard applies to ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers (EVAC resins) obtained by polymerization under high pressure with ethylene and vinyl acetate as monomers, in which the vinyl acetate content ranges from 3% to 40% (mass fraction).
