Introduction

GB/T 21888—2023 Acid Red 131 Standard Overview

GB/T 21888—2023 "Acid Red 131 (Acid Brilliant Red P-9B 150%)" standard is a comprehensive revision of the original standard GB/T 21888—2008, mainly involving technical requirements, test methods and safety specifications for dyes. This standard applies to the quality control and application of this dye.

Background of Standard Formulation and Technological Evolution

Since its release in 2008, the GB/T 21888 series of standards have been widely used in the dye industry. This revision mainly responds to the development needs of the industry and technological progress, focusing on adding color measurement and color fastness requirements for chlorinated water, and optimizing the control methods for harmful aromatic amines.

Comparison of core technical requirements

Item Original standard GB/T 21888—2008 New standard GB/T 21888—2023
Appearance requirements Deep red powder Deep red uniform powder or granules
Colorimetric indicators Approximate visual inspection Approximate visual inspection, colorimetric DE ≤0.50, DC DH ±0.30
Control of harmful aromatic amines Comply with the requirements of GB 19601 New limit requirements in GB/T 24101
Colour fastness to chlorinated water No clear requirements Add the index of discoloration resistance to chlorinated water (assessed after 4h)

Precautions in actual application

Acid Red 131 Pay attention to the following points during use:

  • It needs to be fully dissolved and prepared before dyeing. It is recommended to adopt the standard conditions of GB/T 2374 and GB/T 2378.
  • When dyeing at high temperature (such as 90℃~95℃), the heating speed needs to be controlled to ensure the stability of the dye performance.
  • For wool and nylon fabrics, it is recommended to use weak acid and neutral dyeing processes respectively to obtain the best results.
