Scope
This document specifies the determination of industrial propylene purity and hydrocarbon impurities by gas chromatography, including methane, ethane, ethylene, propane, cyclopropane, isobutane, n-butane, propadiene, acetylene, trans-2-butene, 1-butene, isobutylene, cis-2-butene, 1,3-butadiene, methylacetylene, etc. This document is applicable to the determination of industrial propylene with a purity greater than 98% (volume fraction) and a hydrocarbon impurity content of not less than 1~mL/m³.

1. Standard Overview

GB/T3392-2023 "Gas Chromatographic Method for the Determination of Hydrocarbon Impurities in Industrial Propylene" is an important update of the national standard, replacing the previous GB/T3392-2003 version. This standard mainly stipulates the use of gas chromatography to detect hydrocarbon impurities in industrial propylene, including methane, ethane, ethylene and other components.

4. Interpretation of detection methods
