Metallic powders—Determination of tap density (English Version)
This standard is the second revised version of GB/T5162, and adopts the translation method to be equivalent to the ISO3953:2011 international standard. Compared with the 2006 version, the main technical changes involve 15 substantive revisions, reflecting the development trend of metal powder testing technology in the past 15 years.
Technical elements | 2006 edition | 2021 edition | Significance of revision |
---|---|---|---|
Measurement accuracy | ±0.1cm³ | ±0.2cm³(25cm³ measuring cylinder) | Adapt to the testing needs of high-density powders |
Compacting method | Manual operation is allowed | Delete the manual operation clause | Unify the test method |
Number of samples | Mandatory 3 samples | "If possible" take 3 portions | Increase practical operation flexibility |
The new standard puts forward more stringent requirements for the vibration compaction device:
Basis for selection of glass measuring cylinder:
For refractory metal powders with loose density>4g/cm³, 25cm³ measuring cylinders are preferred, and the scale spacing is reduced to 0.2cm³ to meet the needs of high-precision measurement.
This standard is centralized by the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Nonferrous Metals (SAC/TC243), and it is specially reminded that there may be patent content but the issuing agency does not bear the responsibility for identification. The main drafting units include 18 institutions such as Shenzhen Zhucheng Technology and Northwest Institute of Nonferrous Metals.
