National Food Safety Standard Food Nutrition Fortifier L Potassium Ascorbate (English Version)
Potassium L-ascorbate is an important food nutrient fortifier, mainly used to supplement vitamin C. In order to ensure its application in food safety, the GB1903.55-2022 standard came into being. The standard was jointly issued by the National Health Commission and the State Administration for Market Regulation, aiming to regulate the production, use and testing of potassium L-ascorbate.
Dimensions | Old standards | New standards |
---|---|---|
Scope of application | Only applicable to the production of L-potassium ascorbate | Covering the entire process of production, use and testing |
Technical requirements | Sensory indicators: color, state | New physical and chemical indicators: L-potassium ascorbate content, pH value, etc. |
Detection method | Traditional titration method | Introduction of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and specific rotation method |
Potassium L-ascorbate should be white to slightly yellow crystals or crystalline powder. Inspection can be completed by visual observation, which meets the requirements of A.3 in Appendix A.
Physical and chemical indicators must meet the requirements of Table 2:
