Scope
This document defines the terms and definitions of the Chinese shrimp [Fenneropenaeus chinensis (Osbeck, 1765)], establishes the scientific name and classification, stipulates the main morphological and structural characteristics, growth and reproduction characteristics, cytogenetic characteristics and molecular genetic characteristics, describes the corresponding detection methods, and gives the judgment rules. This document is applicable to the identification and detection of Chinese shrimp germplasm.
Introduction

Interpretation of the National Standard of the People's Republic of China GB/T 19782—2023

1. Background of Standard Formulation and Significance of Revision

Since its first release in 2005, the GB/T 19782 series of standards has provided an important technical basis for the identification and detection of Chinese shrimp germplasm. With the development of aquaculture and technological progress, some contents of the original standards are no longer in line with new market demands and technical requirements. This revision aims to optimize the standard framework, introduce advanced molecular genetic detection methods, and improve detection efficiency and accuracy.

2. Comparative analysis of standard frameworks

Chapter content Main technical changes in the 2005 version Additions/optimizations in the 2023 version
Classification status - Increase the indexing sequence of external morphological images
Measurable traits Delete isozyme analysis Add mitochondrial 16S rRNA sequence analysis method
Detection method Continue to use the sampling method Optimize the detection process of cytogenetic characteristics

3. Interpretation of the main contents of the standard

3.1 Optimization of detection methods

Detection process:The standard specifies the specific steps for sampling, morphological examination, cytogenetic characteristics and molecular genetic characteristics. The newly added mitochondrial 16S rRNA sequence analysis method uses PCR amplification and sequencing technology to significantly improve the detection efficiency.

3.2 Molecular genetic characteristics

Mitochondrial gene reference sequence:The length is 520bp, and the base sequence is shown in Appendix C. The intraspecific K2P genetic distance is less than 1.5%, which provides an accurate basis for germplasm identification.

4. Implementation suggestions

4.1 Key points for the implementation of the standard

  • It is recommended that breeding enterprises establish a complete germplasm testing laboratory equipped with professional testing equipment.
  • During the testing process, sampling and data recording should be carried out strictly in accordance with the standard requirements.
  • Focus on training professional and technical personnel to improve testing capabilities.

4.2 Prospects for standard application

The implementation of GB/T 19782-2023 will help improve the germplasm level of Chinese shrimp and promote the high-quality development of aquaculture. It is recommended that relevant departments strengthen the publicity and implementation of the standard and promote the widespread application of the standard in actual production.
